Designed by Helge Sibast in 1953, the dining chair Sibast No 8 soon made its way into homes all over the world due to its sublime quality and iconic design. The chair has been re-launched by the fourth generation of the Sibast family as a vital design classic from the Danish Modern movement and a signature design from Sibast Furniture. The chair’s characteristic Y-shaped legs, floating seat and moulded backrest demand high-quality craftsmanship in order to achieve the unique expression. The bold and complex design of the iconic chair was perfected by Helge Sibast in the workshop and has an inherent beauty that transcends time and place. A true design classic to treasure and pass on to future generations. Sibast No 8 exemplifies unrivalled artisanal quality and is crafted using wood from FSC®- certified forests and other controlled sources.

The Sibast Furniture collection is designed and manufactured to last for generations. It is made with the same attention to detail, craftsmanship and high quality as our ancestors. To ensure it ages gracefully and with the longest lifespan, it is important that it is properly maintained and cared for as recommended in our maintenance and care instructions.

All furniture included in the Sibast Furniture collection is made out of natural material such as wood, fabric and leather. This means that differences will occur in both finishes and material and that natural markings in the leather hides as well as natural variations in the surface of the wood and the colour of the finishes must be appreciated and expected.

The skills and the passion were passed on to him from his father, who founded the family company in 1908.
